What's my opinion about image traps?
I like when image trap is used as an accent not for whole fractlal. I find rendering whole fractal with i.e. 'my favourite dog trap' disturbing and bit agressive for me. Every tool has to be used with taste.
I think you're working with this type of trap very well and with great results (also maybe because you begin using it much earlier than it was used by most people
One thing I didn't like in your image that in depth there are some places where one bird is sticked with another. I personally would lower iteration number or maybe change bailout for this layer.
